Caring for other people

Caring for other people If you look after someone with care and support needs, and do not get paid for the help you provide, you are a carer. This section includes organisations and services which can support you in your caring role.

Carers are entitled to a Carer’s Assessment, which will look at the different ways that caring affects your life, including your physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.  Visit the ‘Get a carers assessment’ page on durhamcarers.info to find out more.

Durham County Carers Support is an independent charity who provide information, advice and support to carers.
